Program

The Gaani brings together crowned heads, dignitaries, horsemen and griots of the Baatonu kingdom every year. The 2026 edition will take place over the last weekend of August, in Nikki, across three days of festivities.

Welcoming delegations and opening the festivities

This first day is set aside for welcoming the national and international delegations and for the launch of Gaani.

The Gradual Arrival of the Crowned Heads

Gradual arrival of kings, princes, and traditional leaders; staging of the arrivals to facilitate photography and video recording; formal welcome and greetings to the King of Nikki.

The high point of the Gaani: the royal procession crosses the town before the great gathering around the sovereign of Nikki.
